The first American military ship named for a foreign head of state. Also one of the first ships built and launched by Bath Iron Works at the start the new millennium.
The home hole is played back uphill to the clubhouse, originally an 18th century farmhouse. With the road on the right being played as out-of-bounds and the rock-filled creek bisecting the fairway, a well-played drive is a must here at the Eighteenth. The second shot plays uphill to a semi-blind green fronted by bunkers left and right. This "punchbowl" green allows for excellent spectating.
